“Current conditions are fantastic, we have had several tens of centimeters of the new natural snow in the last days. We have opened new slopes for the weekend. They are Pánská, Střecha and K Yettimu; it is 10 km in operation. We are also going to build a skicross trail as well as a snow park,“says the speaker of the Ski resort Lipno Vojen Smíšek. There is a 90 cm of snow on the slopes.
Traffic without complications
Despite the abundance of snow all the roads in the region of Lipno are clear. „All the incoming roads have been clear during the week, when it was snowing heavily. Road maintanance is working perfectly,“ says Smíšek. Skiers can also take a bus or a train from České Budějovice. “It is a comfortable alternative, which pays off financially. You get a 30% off the skipass with your bus or train ticket. In addition, the children, students and seniors pay only 17 crowns for the ride from České Budějovice,“ concludes Vojen Smíšek.
